Valladolid is situated in the geographical heart of Spain and wants to obtain a special place in your heart. A huge historical heritage in every corner, the widest range of contemporary cultural events, the best of our cuisine and wine, the purest expression of the Spanish language, one of the most dynamic economic environments in the country, the site of the biggest urban transformation in Europe (all of this, and much more, awaits you in Valladolid). For those who visit us with the intention of learning or improving their Spanish language skills, providing evidence of the growing international importance of the language, Valladolid offers a uniquely rich and varied experience.

Could there be a better place to study Spanish than the capital city of Old Castile and Léon? Valladolid was the first capital of the Kingdom of Spain and many important historical and cultural figures have walked its streets: Queen Isabel I, Emperor Charles V, King Felipe II and Christopher Columbus, to name but a few. Some of the most important pages of Spanish literature have been written here by Miguel de Cervantes, José de Zorrilla, Jorge Guillen, Rosa Chacel, Francisco Umbral, José Jiménez Lozano, Miguel Delibes…

Today, in Valladolid, students of Spanish can find the city which has the reputation of being the place where Spanish is spoken most purely. A safe and convenient city with all services available. A city with centuries of history, but also vibrant contemporary culture and nightlife scenes, modern national and international travel connections and a high quality of life. A city where over 25,000 university students attend a modern university with eight centuries of history.
